ABOUT

It is a great honor to work with one of the most prestigious art institutions in Lithuania, Klaipeda Drama Theater, on their website redesign. As the oldest theater building in Lithuania, the theater has a rich and storied history dating back to the 18th century when it was known as the “House of Comedy.” Over the centuries, it has undergone numerous transformations, including a major reconstruction in 1857 after a devastating fire. This project aims to blend the theater’s historical legacy with modern design aesthetics, enhancing its digital presence while celebrating its significant cultural heritage. Working on this project has been both a privilege and a fascinating journey through time.

PROBLEM

Klaipeda Drama Theater recently underwent renovations, but their web design still reflected their old style. That’s where I stepped in. My goal was to create a unique yet highly functional website, essential for the many people who purchase tickets online and seek information about theater performances. This was a multi-page design, making it one of the most content-intensive web redesigns I’ve ever tackled. Balancing aesthetics with functionality was key, ensuring the new design honored the theater’s prestigious legacy while providing an enhanced user experience for visitors.

solution or other title:

I spent four months perfecting the design, with even more time dedicated to developing the final piece. I’m incredibly grateful to the KDT team, Agne and Gintare, for their ongoing support. This project was quite a challenge, but I managed to overcome it. The collaborative effort and dedication from everyone involved made this a rewarding experience, and I’m proud of the final result.
